This spring, Batten & Shaw celebrates 25 years in business. A small gathering with cake and punch was held at the Nashville office in March to commemorate the milestone anniversary. All three Batten & Shaw owners: Tom Foley, Danny Shaw, and Jimmy Batten were on hand to lead the celebration. They emphasized their appreciation for each of the employees that serves as a Batten & Shaw representative each day and for the clients that allow Batten & Shaw to be a part of their team. Here’s to the next twenty five years!

Jeff Ellis Joins Denver Office as Senior Estimator

Jeff joined our Denver office in late October. He has 12 years of commercial construction experience. He spent the last six years as a Preconstruction Services leader. His project experience includes preconstruction services and estimating for a number of healthcare projects in Colorado. In addition, he has experience in government, higher education, and various types of commercial construction projects. He has a degree in Construction Management from Colorado State University. Jeff is a Denver native and is married with two children ages 1 and 4.

Ric Woods Joins Batten & Shaw Estimating Team

Ric joined our Nashville Corporate Office as a Senior Estimator in October. He is a graduate of Auburn University in Montgomery, Alabama. Ric has 10 years of construction experience working in the field and estimating. For the past six years he has been estimating healthcare and federal projects. Ric, his wife, and their 3 month old daughter have recently relocated from Alabama. We are excited to welcome them to Nashville and Batten & Shaw!

Miles Coggins Joins Batten & Shaw

Miles Coggins recently joined our Nashville office as a Project Manager. Miles worked in the healthcare construction industry for 6 years on healthcare projects, including multiple hospital facilities. For the past three years, he served as a ministry volunteer in Africa with Water of Life, Inc. where he was Manager of Operations and Administration. There, he oversaw water well construction projects in Liberia and north Sierra Leone. Miles has a degree in Building Science from Auburn University. He is married with two children and a third child due in December.

Doug Dawson Promoted to Senior Project Manager

Mark Southwick Joins Batten & Shaw

Mark Southwick has now joined Batten & Shaw as the Western Division Manager. Mark has an extensive background in managing large medical construction projects. Mark has recently relocated to Denver, CO from Columbus, OH where he has lived for the past three years. Mark will be managing and expanding our operations in Denver and Salt Lake City. Mark is originally from Salt Lake City and is a graduate of Brigham Young University. In his spare time, Mark enjoys skiing, camping, renovating houses, helping coach his daughter’s softball team, and spending time with his family. We are very pleased to welcome the Southwick’s to the Batten & Shaw family!

Cordell Kidd has joined Batten & Shaw

Cordell Kidd has joined Batten & Shaw as a Superintendent on the ADA Special Projects team. Cordell is currently in Tamarac, Florida working on the University Hospital remediation. Cordell is from Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. We are glad to have Cordell on board!

Love Helps Golf Tournament

Batten & Shaw sponsored a foursome that participated in the Love Helps Golf Tournament held on May 16^th at Vanderbilt Legends Club. Batten & Shaw was proudly represented by Tom Foley and Craig Carmon. The foursome won 1^st place in their flight. Congratulations guys! Craig Carmon also won the putting contest for the 2^nd year in a row. Way to go Craig!!

Garner Lee Joins Batten & Shaw

Garner Lee has joined Batten & Shaw as a summer intern in the Nashville office. He will be helping the Senior Project Managers this summer on several different projects. Garner is an upcoming senior in the Building Science program at Auburn University. He is originally from Nashville and attended Hillsboro High School. In his spare time, Garner enjoys hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Welcome Garner!

Logan Schwettman Joins Batten & Shaw

Logan Schwettman has joined Batten & Shaw as a project engineer. He will be working with one of our senior project managers on the Blake Medical Center project in Bradenton, Florida. Logan graduated from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky with a degree in Construction Engineering Technology. Logan is excited about relocating to Middle Tennessee. He enjoys playing golf, fishing, running, sports and spending time with his wife, family, friends, and two dogs. We are glad to have him on board!
